I'm rather spastic. To put things mildly. But in a cute way? Well, you can decide that for yourselves I guess!
I currently work as the office manager/assistant of a financial consulting firm on Long Island. My bosses are super nice and super supportive which is a great, and often difficult thing to find in a job I think.
I spend most of my down time reading or writing little short stories. I mostly write them for myself, but it has always been a dream of mine to have a book published. I'm also an avid collector of antique books. I get totally overwhelmed and excited upon entering a used bookstore. I start to breathe heavier, I start to sweat, and I just lose total control and end up buying waaay more books that I probably have room for right now. But! I hope once I have my own house that I'll have some spare room that I can turn into the sweetest library ever. Then we'll see who bought too many books. Won't we.
I also love to shop. Like. I love to shop in a big way. Vintage clothing, over the years, has become a sort of passion of mine. Every once in a while I'll come across some great vintage piece that fits me like a glove, and it's just one of the best feelings in the world. I love the idea that this piece has come down through the decades, passed on from girl to girl over the years, been worn to countless parties in countless different eras; and to finally have it come down to you? Well. How cool is that really? It's like being a part of history. To wear a dress, or a necklace or a pair of shoes that you know another girl, just like you, wore out in the 1930s or 1940s or 1960s, I think that's about the coolest thing you can ever do.
Unfortunately, I can't outfit myself entirely in vintage pieces (although I sincerely wish I could!). Most of the time I buy stuff on modcloth. They have some really great vintage inspired pieces from different designers that I just can't get enough of.
But I'll save my ramblings on the wonders of vintage clothing and my zeal for shopping for future posts! I'm sure there will be many to follow! But don't be shy! Drop me a line! Are you too an aspiring vintage fashion maven? Where are your favorite spots to find cool pieces? What sorts of styles do you go for? Are there any topics in particular you'd like me to talk about?
Aaannddd that's all I got for now! Thank you so much for taking the time to read! I really hope you'll come back and visit again soon :) I promise to post some cool and interesting stuff once I go out and do a cool and interesting thing! Maybe I'll do that thing tomorrow? Or maybe Tuesday? I know Tuesday definitely has some cool and interesting potential! Possibly with some sweet instagram pics! You'll have to stay tuned to find out won't you!
xoxo Emily
